Membership

What is church membership?

The Bible uses many metaphors when talking about the church: a bride, a building, a family, a flock. One important metaphor Paul uses is the body of Christ. In 1 Corinthians 12, he writes that every member of the body has a distinct role — and that the body suffers when any part is missing.

Membership is how we take that seriously. It is a mutual commitment: you commit to this church, and this church commits to you — to know you, serve you, pray for you, and walk with you through life.

Common questions about membership

Anyone who professes faith in Jesus Christ, has been baptized, and is committed to the life of this local church is welcome to pursue membership.

Members are expected to gather faithfully on the Lord's Day, participate in the life of the body, give generously, and care for one another. We take these commitments seriously — and joyfully.
